Further academic reference supporting the ‘non intentional’ theory

  • Pulido, 2000 + Morello-Frosch 2002: Focus on intentional, malicious acts: too narrow.
  • Morello-Frosch (ibid pag. 491): EJ approaches: too simple. Only analyse the most evident causes. But don’t take into account the institutional, historical and structural reasons determine the distribution of environmental hazards. Environmental inequalities are due to structural and more subtle processes:
    • inequalities in housing markets, racial division of labour, economic restructuring (Morello-Frosch)
    • institutional racism (white privilege) (Pulido)
